Ferguson for three???… Money!

Desmond Ferguson grew up in Lansing. He played high school, college and pro basketball, including a stop in the NBA. In 2002, he founded Moneyball Sportswear, a Lansing-based company providing customized team uniforms and individual apparel. Today, he’s on Cold Oatmeal.

One might argue this is the most self-indulgent episode of Cold Oatmeal to date, and one is probably correct.  But we’ve got big news to announcement and bucket list experiences to share.

It’s time to kick off season seven of Cold Oatmeal, and we do it by meeting our newest downtown Lansing neighbor, Grewal Hall at 224.

A wise man once said, “If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.”  So, our initial instinct to take the summer off from the podcast studio has led us here today to a first-of-its-kind July episode of Cold Oatmeal and a conversation with someone who launched his very own Year of the Opposite project.

We don’t do it often, but today we add a little culture to our cold oatmeal.  Timothy Muffitt, conductor and music director for the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, is our guest.

The Eyde name and Lansing go way back, and over time, this family tree of real estate management and investment has continued to grow.

Evemarie and Nathaniel Eyde are siblings, business partners, our landlords, and branches of this tree.

February 13 was a tragic day that people in mid-Michigan and across the state will remember for a very long time.  A mass shooting on the campus of Michigan State University paralyzed a community for hours.  Lockdowns were ordered and a manhunt launched.  People turned to police scanners, texts, Twitter, and news sites for any information about what was happening.

When news first broke, Rachel Louise Just and Beth LeBlanc didn’t stay home.  They drove to the scene.
