Guys, I don’t know what to write. It’s been months since my last blog – a masterpiece if there ever was such a thing – but writing it squeezed every last bit of creativity out of me. I simply have nothing left to give.

There is a great deal of testosterone in my world. I am the only female in my home and in my office, a fact I tend to forget about until something odd happens to remind me.

Yesterday, I turned 43.  Today, I’m introducing a new podcast.  (Mid-life crisis, anyone?)

For six months, I’ve had the privilege of working as an intern with this team. My time here allowed me to see how a skilled public relations firm functions and it has been an incredibly educational experience. It’s difficult to sum up, but here are the most important lessons that I’ve learned.

Let’s face it, not every aspect of our lives is glamorous.   Not even mine.  I know.  #Shocked.  #Amazed.  #NoNickISimplyDontBelieveYourLifeIsntGlamorous.  Well it’s not.  Responsibility is a four letter word.  I know it’s 14 letters.  Play along. 

Yesterday, as I was doing yet another load of laundry and stressing over a series of family and work problems, I found myself muttering the same phrase over and over again to myself. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.

In my last blog I promised to return to my blogging bread and butter. That is to say, shining a spotlight on some mundane aspect of my ho-hum life, and maaaybe relating it to work, if, ya know, I feel like it and stuff. It’s my niche. It’s my brand. It’s what I do best. And I can think of no better place to pick back up than here. A bookshelf.

My 2017 New Year's resolution was to read more books. How am I doing 6 months in?

I'm willing to beg.  Seriously.
